Our student culture plays a key role in the experience at St. Joseph School.
We’ve created a safe and accessible environment where students are encouraged to discuss ideas, collaborate on projects, share their work, and receive feedback with pride. We give students the foundation to reach their potential and gain confidence both academically and socially.
Teams
With many diverse teams, clubs, and activities, we offer something for every student.



Girls Volleyball
St. Joe’s girls volleyball includes teams in 3rd through 8th grade.
Boys Volleyball
St. Joe’s boys volleyball includes teams in 4th through 8th grade.
Girls Basketball
St. Joe’s girls basketball includes teams in 2nd through 8th grade.



Boys Basketball
St. Joe’s boys basketball includes teams in 2nd through 8th grade.
Golf
SJS Golf Team is open to students in grades 1–8 with various levels of golf experience. If your child is interested but has no golf experience, please contact us for more info. This is a co-ed league, teams will be designated by skill level, not grade level.
Academic Team
Co-ed, Grades 3-8: Multiple Age Groups
SJS Academic Teams are teams of Elementary and Jr. High students who compete in written tests and quick recall competitions (using buzzers similar to Jeopardy) in five different subjects: Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Arts & Humanities — and all KY Governor's Cup events.

Lego Club
The Junior Lego League (Grades 1-3) and First Lego League (Grades 4-8) introduce students to real-world engineering challenges, with older students building Lego-based robots to complete tasks on a themed playing surface. Team members research challenges facing today's scientists, apply real-world math and science concepts, design, build, test, and program robots using LEGO mindstorms technology and learn critical thinking, team-building, and presentation skills.
First Lego League Robotics
Co-ed, Grades 4-8
First Lego League introduces students in grades 4-8 to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a themed playing surface. Art Club
Co-ed, Grades 5-8
Art Club is an after school program that allows serious art students to expand their talents and interests in a creative manner. It is open for students in grades 5-8 and we meet one day per week.



Drama Club
Co-ed, Grades 6-8
The Curtain Call Cavaliers (CCC) is the St. Joseph's drama club. Students in Grades 6-8 must audition to earn roles in our annual spring musical production.
Math Counts
Co-ed, Grades 6-8
The Math Counts program allows students the opportunity to improve and expand their math skills in a competitive and fun experience.
Yearbook Club
The Yearbook Club helps us preserve our favorite memories each year and gets valuable experience managing a creative project, and helping create our yearbook.

Student Council (STUCO)
Co-ed, Grades 4-8
St. Joseph's student council (or STUCO) is an organized, elected group of students in grades 4-8 that meets on a regular basis to work on activities to promote a caring and spirit-filled community. Advisors: Mrs. Coomes and Mrs. Malone
Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts, Grades K-8
St. Joseph Church hosts several girl scout programs for varying age levels. Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Meeting times vary by age level.
Boy Scouts
Boy Scouts, Grades 1-5
St. Joseph Church hosts Cub Scout Pack 90. Cub Scouting provides a quality year-round program that emphasizes character development, spiritual growth, citizenship, family, and fun.



Girls on the Run
Co-ed, Grades 5-8
SJS Golf Team is open to students in grades 5–8 with golf experience. This is not an instructional league – golf experience is required. If your child is interested but has no golf experience, please contact us for more info. This is a co-ed league, teams will be designated by skill level, not grade level.
Quilt Club
Co-ed, Grades 5-8
There is no need for sewing experience to join the Quilt Club! Students will learn how to use a sewing machine and the basics of putting a quilt together.
Crazy For Animals (CFA)
Grades 7 and 8
This club helps care for our class animals. We organize small activities to generate funds to feed and care for our many pets. We organize field trips and presenters to learn more about animals in our world. We also share our knowledge with others in class and throughout the school. Advisor: Mrs. Amy Torres

Joseph Youth Choir (JYC)
Co-ed, Grades 6-8
JYC leads the music at school masses. Students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to join. We meet after school every Tuesday to rehearse the music for each Wednesday morning mass. JYC members enjoy fellowship and fun as they strengthen their faith as well as their musicality.
